3 Essential Items to Take Traveling
Whether you are going away for a long weekend or backpacking across Asia for three months, here are 3 essential items that you must have before leaving!
The number one gadget that you will take anywhere is probably your mobile phone and although I could write a whole article on which phones are great right now, chances are that you already have one that you are happy with. When you are away, you’ll likely find that no matter how good your battery is, your phone will not last a full day due to the extra selfies taken and maps used. The solution? A battery bank!
There are loads of options on the market right now and most of them are okay but recently we discovered the SuperMini 10,000mAh Power Bank. Although 10,000mAh is not the largest capacity power bank you can get right now where the SuperMini shines is in its Credit Card Size format and it’s high speed changing. The small form factor makes it easy to throw in a pocket or bag and at 10,000 mAh you will always have enough charge for your phone but also shouldn’t have problems taking aboard a plane (always check with your airline before your flight). These little power houses are due to start shipping in October so go join the campaign now!
Our second choice is at a similar price range and is made by Anker. The Powercore 20100 trades the speed and small format for double the power capacity! The higher capacity is perfect if you plan to go camping or won't be able to access a power socket for a while. This will definitely keep you going for a long time but just watch out if you are flying with it, some airlines may not allow large capacity power banks.
Wherever you go you probably need to take with you more than you can carry in your pockets. Comfort, functionality, and style are the 3 important factors when choosing a backpack and we kept that in mind when choosing these 3 bags that we can highly recommend to you!
The first bag we Highly recommend is the Alpaka Shift Pack. This is the ultimate waterproof travel backpack with up to 30L internal compartment, laptop compartment, padded camera/drone compartment, and a number of additional spaces to keep small items such as cables, chargers, keys, ect. No matter what you are doing this backpack ticks all the boxes! If you’d like to pick one up for yourself, you can also get an additional 10% off your purchase when you use our discount code YOU10-JOINWAYV at the checkout
Next up is another indiegogo campaign that we are very excited for! The Kiri backpack is fully customizable using magnetic insertable accessories This allows you to turn your bag easily from being the perfect work bag, to camera bag, to travel bag, to a mixture of all three. Best of all, Kiri works with Caring for Cambodia to help provide essential school supplies to children in Cambodia! It's a great cause and a great backpack, what’s not to love?
Finally we have for you a backpack designed for photographers in mind. The Abonnyc Canvas Camera Backpack has compartments aplenty and can be customised to your liking. Unlike some camera bags though, this bag is extremely versatile and works amazingly as a travel bag! This is a budget friendly but comfortable and stylish bag with tonnes of functionality, definitely check it out!
Busses, Trains, and Planes are all very noisy environments. Sometimes we all just want to drown out the noise, listen to music or watch a movie! The key to an enjoyable experience in my opinion is having a killer pair of headphones! We’ve listed below 4 great choices for a good range of budgets but the big decision you will need to make is whether to choose over-ear headphones or in-ear earphones. Best of all, they are all bluetooth so will be compatible with all phones!
Over-ear headphones often are comfier, have a longer battery life, and will be better at blocking out ambient noise. I’ve had my Sony WH-1000MX3’s for over 5 months and I still believe that they are the best headphones on the market. Since buying them many of my friends have also been convinced to buy them and even my Dad wants a pair. The MX3’s are lightweight, crisp, and have the best active noise canceling (ANC) of any headphone on the market! For anyone who regularly flies they also have a cool feature that balances the audio and noise canceling to be most effective at any air pressure.
The MX3’s are worth every penny in my opinion but if you are looking for a more affordable option then definitely consider Sony’s WH-CH700N. Although the active noise cancelling is not quite as powerful as the MX3’s, the Sony WH-CH700N comes with a huge number of features including a 35 hour battery life and great sound quality all for under £100!
In-ear headphones have the very obvious advantage of being much smaller in size than their over-ear competitors which can be a huge advantage to any traveler. Having smaller drivers (or speakers) means that it is difficult to get quality audio that competes with over-ear headphones but Sony may well have done it with the WF-1000XM3’s. Sony has somehow managed to pack everything that makes the WH-1000MX3’s so great into a pair of fully wireless earphones and we love them! Powerful active noise canceling, 8 hours battery life (+ additional 3 charges from carrying case), and outstanding sound quality all in a pocket size form factor!
Again if you are looking for a more budget friendly option we have something for you, this time not made by Sony! The Jaybird X4’s are a very popular pair of headphones which are especially good for people with a more active lifestyle due to their fit and weather resistance!
